Coach Metzinger’s remarks on Saturday’s Meet:

It was great to finally see some of these wrestler compete with someone outside of our own practice room. They all have been working hard these first couple of weeks, now they can see what did and did not work and make improvements. Head to head on the day Manteo Wrestlers went 3-2 vs South Johnston and 2-5 vs Rosewood.

Four of our wrestlers had their first ever high school matches today and fought hard. The team as a whole is very inexperienced compared to programs like Rosewood. It was a good measuring stick for the team as we will see Rosewood again at the very end of the season on June 11th. The wrestling team will be back in action on tuesday with a dual meet at First Flight.
